Description

Stripe is hiring a Software Engineer, Intern for its University team in Bengaluru.

As an intern, you will work on real production software that directly impacts Stripe's users and business. You will work alongside experienced engineers, contribute to technical discussions, participate in code reviews, and take ownership of meaningful engineering problems with support from your manager and teammates.

The internship provides exposure to large-scale software engineering, production systems, testing, technical design, and cross-functional collaboration.

Stripe's recent intern projects have included work across payments, fraud prevention, payouts, anomaly detection, and user-facing products.

Responsibilities

Work as a full member of the engineering team and participate in team discussions and technical decisions.
Write production software that has meaningful impact on Stripe's users and business.
Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.
Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders.
Take ownership of engineering problems from start to finish with support from your manager and teammates.
Learn unfamiliar systems through independent research and guidance from mentors or subject-matter experts.
Communicate project progress and technical work clearly.
Use modern AI development tools while critically reviewing and validating their output.
Learn and apply software engineering best practices.

Requirements

Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
Strong fundamental understanding of computer science.
Programming experience through coursework, personal projects, or other practical experience.
Familiarity with programming languages such as Ruby, Java, JavaScript, Go, or Scala is useful.
Experience with internships, team projects, or open-source contributions.
Ability to learn and understand unfamiliar systems.
Ability to work effectively with mentors, teammates, and stakeholders.
Ability to use AI tools to accelerate development while applying critical thinking and professional judgment.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
