Description

Mastercard is hiring a Software Engineer I for its Transaction Stream team in Pune.

The role focuses on developing next-generation core payment products using cloud-native principles and modern software engineering practices. The engineer will work on full-stack development using Java and Spring Boot while contributing to switching solutions, databases, messaging, UI, reporting, automation, and quality initiatives.

The position also involves working with containers and PaaS technologies, CI/CD, online and real-time applications, batch processing, and Agile development. Candidates will collaborate with teams across different locations to deliver scalable and reliable payment solutions.

Responsibilities

Develop full-stack applications using Java for switching solutions.
Design and develop services using the Spring Boot framework.
Decompose business requirements and customer experiences into features and functions.
Contribute to next-generation core payment product development.
Work with databases, messaging, UI, and reporting components.
Develop online, real-time, and batch applications.
Implement and support CI/CD automation initiatives.
Contribute to product quality, validation, and delivery.
Work with containers and PaaS technologies.
Collaborate with teams across different Mastercard locations.
Coordinate with various groups to ensure successful project delivery.
Participate in quality and automation initiatives.
Maintain strong code quality and engineering practices.
Work effectively within Agile development teams.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of Java.
Strong knowledge of the Spring Boot framework.
Experience or knowledge of full-stack development.
Knowledge of databases, RDBMS, or modern database technologies.
Understanding of messaging, UI, and reporting components.
Knowledge of containers and PaaS technologies.
Experience with CI/CD practices.
Experience developing online, real-time, or batch applications.
Experience working in Agile software development projects.
Understanding of automation and code quality practices.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) is desirable.
Experience in quality initiatives is beneficial.
