Description

Kaleris is hiring a CloudOps Intern for its Chennai team. The role provides hands-on exposure to cloud environment operations, monitoring, system maintenance, virtualization, endpoint security, automation scripting, documentation, and IT service management.

The intern will work under supervision and support Windows and Linux environments, cloud operations, VMware tasks, endpoint security tools, automation scripts, and operational processes while learning from senior engineers.

Responsibilities

Assist with day-to-day cloud environment operations and monitoring under supervision.
Support patch management activities for Windows and Linux systems, including CentOS and Ubuntu.
Assist with basic VMware tasks such as VM health checks, snapshot management, and routine maintenance.
Support installation and basic upkeep of endpoint security tools such as EDR solutions.
Assist in building and maintaining automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
Maintain accurate documentation of systems, processes, and standard operating procedures.
Raise and track tickets and incidents through the team's ITSM tool.
Follow established escalation procedures.
Participate in training sessions.
Shadow senior engineers to develop hands-on operational knowledge.

Requirements

Currently pursuing final year of a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Basic understanding of operating systems, including Windows and Linux fundamentals.
Basic awareness of cloud computing concepts using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Basic understanding of networking concepts, particularly in cloud environments, is a plus.
Basic understanding of databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle is a plus.
Familiarity with PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting is a plus.
Basic understanding of VMware virtualization is a plus but not mandatory.
Awareness of fundamental IT security concepts such as patching, antivirus, and EDR is a plus.
Strong willingness to learn.
Good communication skills and ability to follow structured processes.
Good analytical and troubleshooting mindset with attention to detail.
