Description

DigitalOcean is hiring a Cloud Operations Engineer I in Hyderabad, India. The role focuses on monitoring and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure across systems, networking, storage, virtual machines, and containers.

The engineer will provide first-response support for cloud health issues, troubleshoot problems ranging from individual Droplets to cloud-wide infrastructure disturbances, automate operational processes, build tools to improve operational efficiency, and collaborate with teams to maintain reliable global infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Ensure maximum uptime for DigitalOcean's global infrastructure.
Monitor and provide first-response support for cloud health and infrastructure issues.
Troubleshoot systems, networking, storage, virtual machines, and container-related issues.
Investigate issues ranging from individual Droplets to cloud-wide infrastructure disturbances.
Automate operational processes and build tools that improve operational efficiency.
Coordinate operational work across teams while minimizing impact on the platform and customers.
Participate in monitoring and incident management activities.
Document operational procedures and communicate technical issues clearly.

Requirements

Experience with Linux operating systems or networking and day-to-day system administration.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies and troubleshooting virtual machine instances.
Familiarity with containerization technologies and troubleshooting containers.
Familiarity with IPv4 networking and troubleshooting.
Basic understanding of storage concepts and technologies.
Experience with monitoring systems and incident management.
Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or Ruby.
Experience with configuration management systems.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and operational practices.
