Description

Caterpillar is hiring an Autonomy Engineer in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The role focuses on the design, development, testing, and validation of robotics software and algorithms for robotic platforms. The engineer will collaborate with senior engineers and contribute to software and hardware troubleshooting, verification, and validation.

Responsibilities

Collect and research customer experience data related to robotic platforms and prepare reports.
Document architecture specifications, software designs, verification plans, test cases, operating procedures, and safety procedures.
Use appropriate tools to debug, test, and maintain software and hardware systems for robotic tools.
Assist with verification and validation activities.
Participate in the design and development of application software and algorithms for robotic platforms.

Requirements

Degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
Knowledge of software development life cycle concepts.
Understanding of software product testing and testing methodologies.
Familiarity with application development tools and toolkits.
Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts and technologies.
Working knowledge of programming.
Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and application issues.
