Overview

The Mastercard Payment Networks team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to drive our customer experience strategy forward by consistently innovating and problem-solving. The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience journey, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.

Develop and maintain application features and services with focus on code quality and reliability.
Write backend code using Java (17+), applying core Object-Oriented principles and basic design patterns.
Contribute to development of microservices and APIs using frameworks such as Spring Boot.
Implement features based on defined requirements and solution designs, with guidance from senior engineers.
Participate in development within a CI/CD-enabled environment (e.g., PCF or similar cloud platforms).
Work with data persistence technologies (RDBMS, NoSQL such as Cassandra) under guidance.
Follow established coding standards, testing practices, and quality gates.
Debug issues and contribute to defect resolution and system stability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support smooth project delivery.
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and meet sprint commitments.
Contribute to Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and learning initiatives when required.
Seek feedback, continuously learn, and adopt modern development and cloud practices.
Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices.
Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed.
Report any suspected information security violation or breach.
Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.
