Description

Gentrack is hiring a Software Engineer Junior for its Delivery Engineering team in Pune, India. This is a permanent full-time hybrid position focused on software engineering within Gentrack's technology environment.

Gentrack develops technology solutions for energy and water utilities and is incorporating AI into its products, collaboration, and engineering practices.

Responsibilities

Analyse customer requests.
Produce solution artefacts and estimations.
Conduct peer reviews of solution artefacts.
Develop, maintain, deploy, and support solutions throughout implementation life cycles.
Produce relevant documentation for knowledge transfer.
Participate in planning, stand-ups, estimation, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
Establish strong business relationships with customers.
Ensure standards and procedures are followed.
Take responsibility for quality delivery of assigned tasks.
Identify relevant risks and provide resolution recommendations.
Perform basic network and database tasks.
Communicate with customers through relevant communication channels.
Advise customers on the best use of Gentrack products.
Advise customers on industry best practices.
Work as part of an integrated business team to achieve effective business solutions.
Promote technical best practices.
Be open to working with proprietary languages.
Support sustainability initiatives and practices in accordance with Gentrack's Sustainability Charter.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or comparable professional development and commercial experience.
0–3 years of experience.
Strong experience in backend development using C/C++.
Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies.
Experience with at least one database.
Experience in software testing.
Understanding of system design.
Data analysis capabilities.
User experience analysis capabilities.
Innovative thinking.
Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and customers.
