Description

Apple's Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) team is looking for a Software Quality Engineer to contribute to the design, analysis, testing, and certification of applications.

The role involves working with software engineers, project managers, product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to test features, perform root-cause analysis, and improve the quality of the customer experience.

The position covers functional, exploratory, end-to-end, regression, and integration testing across web, API, and native iOS/iPadOS applications. The role also involves building and improving automated testing practices and using modern tools, including GenAI, to improve quality engineering productivity.

Responsibilities

Design and execute test cases based on product requirements, user journeys, and technical designs.
Create test plans and testing strategies for software features.
Perform exploratory, functional, end-to-end, regression, and integration testing.
Test web applications, APIs, and native iOS/iPadOS applications.
Develop and maintain automated tests using modern testing frameworks.
Investigate test failures and product defects.
Perform root-cause analysis and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
Work closely with developers, product managers, and QE engineers throughout the software development lifecycle.
Identify repetitive testing activities that can be improved through automation and AI-assisted workflows.
Use GenAI tools to improve software testing productivity and engineering workflows.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
1-2 years of experience in software quality engineering.
Strong programming skills in at least one language such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
Experience with modern test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or Appium.
Experience testing web applications, APIs, and native iOS/iPadOS applications.
Good understanding of software testing principles, test design techniques, and automation practices.
Experience creating test cases, test plans, and test strategies.
Strong debugging, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Experience using GenAI tools for quality engineering tasks.
